I promise this one of a kind beauty wasn’t a left over prop from Texas Chainsaw Masacer.
Honestly, when our Mama Cyndee spied it, it looked like it came out of a horror movie but of course in usual Cyndee fashion she looked at it for 2 seconds, shrugged off the offensive color and gave it the old “ah” no big deal look. You can tell someone had started to give it some love – trying to strip it down to its natural wonder but went running for the hills when they ended up with that red hot mess on those drawers. Let’s just say there is still red paint on the driveway of that sweet person that started this dear ole project ( I wouldn’t know first hand but just sayin’)…
Okay I’m warning you!! Brace yourself.
The first picture doesn’t look so bad but that close up- whoa baby! It did have beautiful carvings on the drawers but do you see what I mean- one hot mess!! It was going to take a bit of TLC to make this piece a thing of beauty again.
Now Cyndee sanded, scraped and glued to get it to the point where it was ready for some Chalk Paint®. She decided to go with Old Ochre and Graphite for her colors, S.e painted the drawers inside and out with Old Ochre and the frame with Graphite. Sanded it up a bit and finished it off with Clear Wax. What a transformation huh folks??!!
AmaZIng job Cyndee!! She’ll have it at the Independence sale next week. Stop in and see it for yourself.
